15th Anniversary celebration of Michigan Life Science and Innovation Center
MiLSEA team worked with MEDC to organize the 15th Anniversary of Michigan Life Science Innovation Center on June 6th, 2023. This event highlighted the achievements of this community landmark and recognized the contributions of the people who made it possible. The chief guest included Lt. Governor of Michigan Garlin Gilchrist, MEDC CEO Quentin L Messr, MLSIC pioneer Dr. Roger Newton, Duo Security Founder Dug Song, and Handylab and Celsee founder Dr. Kalyan Handique, among other stalwarts of the community.

2023 MiLSEA Business Plan Competition at MI Tech Week

The MiLSEA team organized the 2023 Life Science Business Plan Competition at the MI Tech Week on Oct. 9th, 2023, at the Big House. The grand prize winner, EpiSLS, which has an allergy testing platform, walked away with $20K in non-dilutive award value, while the second prize award of $5K went to Artova, which is developing therapy for pediatric ovarian cancers.

MiLSEA sponsors Ross MBA "Bold Challenge" MAP to explore and elevate the Michigan Life Science Ecosystem
In spring 2025, MiLSEA sponsored a Ross MBA "Bold Challenge" MAP team to pave a roadmap for the Michigan Life Science Ecosystem. They interviewed about 30 ecosystem stakeholders and visited five innovation centers around the State. Their findings are posted in the members-only exclusive content page. 2025 MiLSEA Michigan Life Science Ecosystem Showcase

On April 28th, 2025, MiLSEA organized the first Michigan Life Science Ecosystem Showcase at Ross, highlighting the work done by the “Bold Challenge” Multidisciplinary Action Project (MAP) Team, composed of Ross MBAs. The event also featured a talk by Kromatid Inc. CEO Jim Chomas, who shared how Kromatid’s pioneering genetic integrity analysis is revolutionizing safety and precision in the Cell and Gene Therapy industry.
